Born Catherine Elise “Kate” Jackson in Birmingham, AL, Jackson is best known for her role as the smart, brunette angel, Sabrina Duncan in the 1970s television series Charlie’s Angels. She was usually considered the best of the three original lead actresses, and she was the only one with prior acting qualifications.
She had earlier played a year-long role in the soap opera Dark Shadows in 1970 as Daphne Harridge.
Jackson was also Mrs. Amanda King in the 80s TV series, Scarecrow and Mrs. King.
In 1978, she married the actor Andrew Stevens. They divorced in 1980.
At 45, Jackson adopted her first child.
