After serving 15 years as a judge of the Superior Court, Washington Supreme Court Justice Faith Ireland was elected to the Supreme Court.
In 2000, on statewide cable television, Ireland revealed her 35-year secret. At the age of 22, while in college, she had a baby out-of-wedlock and placed her for adoption. She and her daughter were reunited in 1997.
