Born in Freeport, Illinois on November 11, 1965, Calista Flockhart is the daughter of retired business executive, Ronald Flockart and teacher, Kay Flockhart.
Flockhart graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1988, with a BFA in theatre.
On December 13, 2000, Flockhart collapsed on the set of her TV show, Ally McBeal(1997). It was announced she suffered from dehydration and exhaustion and had nothing to with her thinness, that many have attributed to bulemia.
Flockhart adopted her son, Liam, in San Diego, on January 1, 2001.
